Softball Recap: Kent Island Makes It Five in a Row on the Road

Kent Island won the last time they faced St. Michaels and things went their way on Thursday too. The Buccaneers put the hurt on the Saints with a sharp 13-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Buccaneers, who have now won six contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Abby Mahaffey was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-5.

Kent Island was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .415. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Michaels only posted a batting average of .222.

Kent Island pushed their record up to 6-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for St. Michaels, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
