After losing to the Washington Eagles the last time they met, the Arroyo Dons decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Arroyo snuck past Washington with a 53-47 victory on Friday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Arroyo.
Despite the loss, Washington still got an impressive performance from Korey Abantao, who scored 16 points along with 5 assists and 3 steals. The match was Abantao's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Tommy Mayfield-Commer, who scored 9 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals.
Arroyo's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Washington, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arroyo will face off against Napa at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Washington, they will head out on the road to face off against Alhambra at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Alhambra focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Thursday.
