The Castle Park Trojans lost against the Chula Vista Spartans back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Castle Park took a serious blow against Chula Vista, falling 49-13. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Castle Park in their matchups with Chula Vista: they've now lost five in a row.
Although Castle Park took the loss, they still got scores from Sebastian Lozano and Christian Hayes.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Chula Vista to victory, but perhaps none more so than La'Darrione Perkins, who rushed for 165 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries. Perkins was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 65 yards. Izaac Baca was another key contributor, throwing for 147 yards and four touchdowns.
Castle Park now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Chula Vista, the win was the third in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.
Castle Park will head out on the road to face off against Southwest SD at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Southwest SD is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. Chula Vista will take on San Ysidro at 6:30 p.m. on October 27th. San Ysidro is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.
