The Clarkston Angoras's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They were beaten by Hapeville Charter 94-51. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Clarkston in their matchups with the Hornets: they've now lost six in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Clarkston lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jonathan McBride. Despite the final result, he scored 12 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Lawerence Reeves, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Clarkston struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Hapeville Charter pulled down 22 offensive rebounds.
It was another big night for Jonathan Goldson, who dropped a double-double on 32 points and ten rebounds for Hapeville Charter. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Goldson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Miguel Hannah jr., who scored ten points along with six steals.
Clarkston has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Hapeville Charter, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-10.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Westminster the next time they take the court. Clarkston will host the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, while the Hornets will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
