The Skyline Eagles were the 55-33 winner over the Clearfield Falcons when they last played one another back in December of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. Skyline took a 65-47 bruising from Clearfield on Tuesday.
When it comes to explaining why Skyline lost, one person who can't be blamed is Cami Groberg. Despite the final result, she scored 21 points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Mia Johnson, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Xiyah Yarbrough continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Clearfield, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Those ten rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Isabelle Wyaskett was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Skyline has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season. As for Clearfield, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.
Skyline will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Brighton at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Clearfield will finish 2023 at home by hosting Cedar Valley at 2:30 p.m. on December 29th.
