If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Union City. On Thursday they take on Memorial at 7:00 PM. Union City will be strutting in after a win while Memorial will be stumbling in from a defeat.
Union City took their match against Irvington last week by a conclusive 34-10 score. No one put up better numbers for Union City than senior Joel Jimenez, who brought his A game into the match. He rushed for 72 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Memorial came up short against Columbia, falling 20-28.
Memorial's loss took them down to 0-3 while Union City's victory pulled them up to 3-0. Memorial's offensive line will need to gear up for a tough test against a Union City defensive front that amassed 6.0 sacks against Irvington, so we'll see if they are up to the task.
