Basketball Recap: Mcclatchy Piles Up the Points Against Cordova

There's no place like home for McClatchy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Cordova Lancers 61-31. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 27 points or more this season.

McClatchy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kai Bradford, who posted 17 points in addition to five assists and five steals. Another player making a difference was Gene Castillo, who went 9 for 20 on his way to 20 points.

McClatchy's win bumped their record up to 13-8. As for Cordova, their loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-18.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the McClatchy Lions take on the West Park Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on February 7th. As for Cordova, they will host Vista del Lago at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Cordova is facing Vista del Lago at the right time seeing as Vista del Lago is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
