The Wooster Colts will challenge the North Valleys Panthers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Wooster barely beat South Tahoe the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Colts were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Vikings on Wednesday.

Chris Ballard
Chris Ballard spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Wooster is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-4-1 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Edgar Nunez Montano was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He has become a key player for Wooster: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-5-1 otherwise.
Meanwhile, North Valleys posted their closest win since March 11th on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Truckee, sneaking past 7-6. The game was the first time the Panthers have beaten the Wolverines on their field since April 1, 2023.
Austin Dozier made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two).
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brooks Anderline, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Zach Clarke was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.
North Valleys has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Wooster, they now have a winning record of 6-5-1.
Wooster suffered a grim 13-6 defeat to North Valleys in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Colts have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
