Softball Recap: Sheridan Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

Sheridan barely beat Bauxite the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Yellowjackets' pitcher stepped up to hand the Miners a 7-0 shutout on Monday. The Yellowjackets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 games by seven runs or more this season.

Chloe Clark was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Skylar Sterritt, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and one stolen base. Jadyn Ashcraft was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double.

Sheridan hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in eight consecutive contests.

Sheridan is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That somehow still isn't as good as their 17-5 record this season. As for Bauxite, their loss dropped their record down to 16-12.

Sheridan wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against Bentonville on the 3rd. As for Bauxite, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-8 loss against Malvern on the 29th.
