On Thursday, Northside was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 51-46 to Avoyelles Charter.
Avoyelles Charter was led to victory by Armonii Benjamin and Jalen Brown. Benjamin scored 17 points along with five rebounds, while Brown scored 25 points along with three steals. That makes it 19 consecutive games in which Brown has scored at least 25% of Avoyelles Charter's points. Kaileb Barr was another key contributor, scoring five points along with seven rebounds.
Northside's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Avoyelles Charter, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northside and Peabody will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Peabody will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive. Avoyelles Charter is on the road again on January 5, 2024 and play against Pineville at 7:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
