University is 2-8 against Westchester since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The University Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Westchester Comets at 6:00 p.m. University is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
On Wednesday, University ended up a good deal behind Fairfax and lost 56-38.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Nasir Ledwith, who scored seven points. Payton Graue was another key contributor, scoring two points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Westchester proved they can win big on Monday (they won by 23) but on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Los Angeles CES 46-43. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Westchester has posted since December 8, 2023.
University has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season. As for Westchester, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.
Things could have been worse for University, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 58-44 loss to Westchester in their previous meeting on January 8th. Can University avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
