Baseball Recap: Peru's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Peru got themselves on the board against Wabash on Wednesday, but Wabash never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Apaches with a sharp 11-0 victory. Considering the Tigers have won seven matchups by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Bryce Hill, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Peru is undefeated when Hill posts three or more hits, but 4-5 otherwise. William Rodriguez also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Peru hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

The win (which was Peru's fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Wabash, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Peru will square off against Western at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Wabash, they will take on Northwestern at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
