It was fun while it lasted, but North Stokes's undefeated season came to an end after ten games on Friday. They received a blow as they fell 57-40 to the Surry Central Golden Eagles. The loss was just more heartbreak for the Vikings, who fell 41-39 when the teams last met back in December of 2022.

Surry Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Stella Wall led the charge by putting up eight points along with five assists and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Wall a new career-high in assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Presley Smith, who went 6 of 9 on her way to 13 points.

Having lost for the first time this season, North Stokes fell to 10-1. As for Surry Central, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home.

North Stokes will head out to challenge Patrick County at 6:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Surry Central, they and Triad Baptist Christian Academy will face off at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
