Northwest Rankin is 10-0 against Pearl since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Northwest Rankin Cougars will look to defend their home pitch against the Pearl Pirates at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Northwest Rankin is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another highly-ranked state team: St. Mary's Dominican, who was ranked 20th in their home state at the time (Northwest Rankin was ranked second). Northwest Rankin's defense stepped up to hand St. Mary's Dominican a 4-0 shutout on Saturday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Cougars needed considering they were shutout in their previous game.

They hit St. Mary's Dominican with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Amiyah Barnes, Kate Gray Nesbit, Sarahkate Foreman, and Tyler Grace Sims.

Meanwhile, Pearl's and McComb's contest back in December of 2024 was close at halftime, but Pearl turned on the heat in the second half with six goals. Everything went Pearl's way against McComb as Pearl made off with a 7-0 win. That's two games straight that the Pirates have won by exactly seven goals.

Northwest Rankin is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which somehow still isn't as good as their 11-2-1 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 30 goals over those five games. As for Pearl, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-5.

Northwest Rankin took their win against Pearl in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 6-0. Does Northwest Rankin have another victory up their sleeve, or will Pearl turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
