The Midway Raiders waltzed into their matchup Wednesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Hobbton and snuck past 67-65. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Tripp Westbrook continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 21 points. The game was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Holland, who scored 12 points.
Midway is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Hobbton, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-6.
Midway will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Spring Creek at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Hobbton will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Wallace-Rose Hill at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
