The North Duplin Rebels struggled with threes on Tuesday (the Neuse Charter Cougars had five more) and sadly the final score reflected it. North Duplin lost to Neuse Charter on the road by a decisive 64-47 margin. North Duplin has struggled against Neuse Charter recently, as their match on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why North Duplin lost, one person who can't be blamed is Micah Lesesane. Despite the final result, he scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dujuan Armwood, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Jayvin Bradley continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Neuse Charter, scoring 34 points along with six rebounds and two steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which Bradley has scored at least a third of Neuse Charter's points. Another player making a difference was Jayden Atkinson, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and six assists.
North Duplin has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for Neuse Charter, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-14.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Duplin's road trip will continue as they head out to face Lakewood at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th. Hopefully Lakewood focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Tuesday. As for Neuse Charter, they will head out on the road to square off against Hobbton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
