The Triton Hawks scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They claimed a resounding 77-15 win over Southern Lee on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Triton has managed all season.
Triton was led to victory by Neveah Hawley and Ja'Niah Smith. Hawley scored 25 points along with six steals, while Smith dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten steals. That's the first time this season that Smith scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Nashara McNeil-Watlington, who scored nine points along with six steals and five assists.
The win makes it two in a row for Triton and bumps their season record up to 5-3. As for Southern Lee, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Triton's road trip will continue as they head out to face Jordan-Matthews at 2:00 p.m. on December 27th. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Lia Carter and McNeil-Watlington. Southern Lee will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Pinecrest at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Pinecrest is on a four-game streak of home losses, Southern Lee a nine-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change.
