Triton Central has won four straight games at home, while Tri-West Hendricks has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. Triton Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Covenant Christian only posted a batting average of .226.
While Tri-West Hendricks didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against Lebanon by a score of 5-2 on Wednesday. The Bruins haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Graham Willhelm made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Willhelm was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ethan Frye, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases.
Triton Central is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for Tri-West Hendricks, their win bumped their record up to 8-3.
Both Triton Central and Tri-West Hendricks just can't seem to miss. The Tigers have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.8 hits per game. However, it's not like Tri-West Hendricks struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.5 hits.
