Brody Enkey and Chris Wright provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Okemah. The connection went for 84 yards, the longest such play in 2A District 5 this season.
Meeker extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Wellston, 42-0. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Bulldogs.
Dallas Jackson was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 97 yards on 6 carries as Meeker fell to the Panthers. Jake Standlee also contributed to the rushing game with 51 yards on the ground.
5-foot-10 quarterback Standlee of Mike Hedge's team is the league leader in passing yards this season with 414. He has also thrown 6 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Wright. The Haskell star has 13 catches for 185 yards.
The Bulldogs are in first place, while Mounds is in fourth place.
The Tigers fell to Meeker 42-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
