It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Truckee Wolverines had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They came out on top against Moapa Valley by a score of 14-7. Truckee's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
The critical scores for Truckee came from Luke Trotter and Joe Birnbaum.
Despite the loss, Moapa Valley still got an impressive performance from Shandon Matheson, who rushed for 114 yards and a touchdown.
Truckee pushed their record up to 12-0 with that win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Moapa Valley, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-3.
Truckee will face off against Sports Leadership & Management at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Sports Leadership & Management is coming into the match hot, having won their last nine games. Moapa Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
