The Silverado Skyhawks will take on the Southeast Career Tech Roadrunners at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Wednesday, Silverado earned a 3-1 victory over Del Sol. The Skyhawks haven't had any issues with the Dragons recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
In the three sets Silverado was on fire: they won each by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 22-25, 25-9, 25-15.
Among those leading the charge was Addisyn Simbahon, who had eight aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in September.
They weren't the only good servers: Silverado was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 20 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Southeast Career Tech made easy work of Basic on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 victory.
The win didn't come easy: Basic scored at least 19 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-22, 25-22.
Silverado better focus on containing Jazmin Evenden and Mikaela Fellows as the pair were huge in Southeast Career Tech's win. Evenden had 11 digs and one assist, while Fellows had five digs and three aces.
The victory got Silverado back to even at 12-12. As for Southeast Career Tech, their win bumped their record up to 20-10.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's contest: Silverado has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 8.4 aces per game. However, it's not like Southeast Career Tech struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.3 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Silverado beat Southeast Career Tech 3-1 in their previous matchup back in September. Will the Skyhawks repeat their success, or do the Roadrunners have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
