Sheridan has won 12 straight games at home (dating back to last season), while West Muskingum has won 12 straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Generals will host the Tornadoes at 5:00 p.m. Sheridan's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so West Muskingum's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Sheridan's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Tri-Valley 8-0. Considering the Generals have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Meanwhile, West Muskingum beat Maysville 10-5 on Tuesday. The Tornadoes haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Addy Antonetz was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Antonetz was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Kaley Meddings was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Calie Smith was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
West Muskingum always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Sheridan is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for West Muskingum, their win bumped their record up to 12-6.
Sheridan beat West Muskingum 6-1 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Will the Generals repeat their success, or do the Tornadoes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
