The West Noble Chargers put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They skirted past Mishawaka Marian 46-43. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Drew Yates had a dynamite game for West Noble, rushing for 101 yards and two touchdowns, while also throwing for 262 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.4 yards per attempt. Bradyn Barth was another key contributor, picking up 96 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Mishawaka Marian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Bryce LaSane, who threw for 331 yards and five touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was Braxton Brooks, who picked up 164 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
West Noble's victory was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 10-0. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-10 Prairie Heights and 2-8 Angola (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 30% over those games). As for Mishawaka Marian, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
West Noble will head out on the road to face off against Knox at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Knox will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line. Mishawaka Marian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
