The matchup between The J.F. Webb Warriors and the Vance County Vipers on Friday hardly resembled the 1-0 effort from their previous meeting. J.F. Webb was dealt a 61-6 loss at the hands of Vance County. It was the first time this season that J.F. Webb let down their fans at home.
Maurtice Roberts threw for 88 yards and a touchdown. Jaylan Hester was his top target, picking up 82 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Vance County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Javion Vines-holder, who rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 106 yards and three touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Shamir Sheppard, who rushed for 135 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries.
J.F. Webb has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for Vance County, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
J.F. Webb does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Vance County will be playing at home against Terry Sanford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Terry Sanford is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
