Baseball Recap: Jerome Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

The matchup between Jerome and Columbia on Friday hardly resembled the 2-0 effort from their previous meeting. Jerome was the clear victor by a 15-4 margin over Columbia. Considering the Tigers have won three matches by more than ten runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Caleb Jones and Mason Garcia did most of the damage at the plate: Jones went 3-for-4 with five RBI and one double, while Garcia scored four runs while going 1-for-5. With that strong performance, Garcia is now averaging an impressive 2.2 runs per game. Another player making a difference was Sawyer Tilley, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

The victory (which was Jerome's third in a row) raised their record to 4-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Columbia, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Jerome wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 6-5 defeat against Vallivue on the 22nd. As for Columbia, they have also already played their next game, an 8-6 victory against Burley on the 21st.
