Volleyball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Paloma Valley's Ninth in Last 11 Outings

If Valley View wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Paloma Valley, they should've done a better job of containing Jayden Estrella. The Wildcats came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday with plenty of help from Estrella, who had 17 assists and nine digs. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more assists the last three times he's played.

Paloma Valley had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 13-25, 25-13, 25-22, 25-21.

Leading Paloma Valley to victory were Isaac Mendoza and Jhomar Yanga. Mendoza had ten digs and four assists, while Yanga had 14 digs and six kills. That's the most assists Mendoza has posted over his last eight matchups.

Paloma Valley is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-10 record this season. As for Valley View, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-7 record.

Coincidentally, Paloma Valley and Valley View will both be playing Liberty the next time they take the court. The Wildcats will head out to face the Bison at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Eagles will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
