The Galena Grizzlies can finally bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They strolled past Reed with points to spare, taking the game 53-38. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Galena also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Galena's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ramona Peterson, who scored 19 points along with three steals. Mia Turner was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds.

The team also got some help courtesy of Anastasia Lombardi, who scored eight points along with six steals and five rebounds.
Even though they lost, Reed smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Galena only pulled down six offensive rebounds.
Galena's victory bumped their record up to 5-20. As for Reed, their loss dropped their record down to 3-15.
Galena will head out on the road to square off against Damonte Ranch at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Galena will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nevada Rankings (they are ranked 65th, while Damonte Ranch is ranked 18th). As for Reed, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Spanish Springs at 5:15 p.m. Hopefully Spanish Springs focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday.
