There's no place like home for Central Magnet, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They blew past the LaVergne Wolverines 17-2 on Wednesday. That 15 run margin sets a new team best for Central Magnet this season.

Rachel Plondke looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-low in walks (zero).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Paige Simmons, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Sophia Croasdaile also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Central Magnet always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .724. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as LaVergne only posted an OBP of .438.

Central Magnet now has a winning record of 3-2. As for LaVergne, they dropped their record down to 0-4 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Central Magnet wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 1-0 loss against Franklin County on the 13th. As for LaVergne, they will take on White House-Heritage in a tournament on Friday. LaVergne has given up an average of 18.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
