The Pajaro Valley Grizzlies's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their eighth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Monte Vista Christian, falling 73-38. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Pajaro Valley in their matchups with Monte Vista Christian: they've now lost six in a row.
Jack Ryan was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 15 rebounds for Monte Vista Christian. Ryan has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last eight times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Brogan, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Pajaro Valley's defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Monte Vista Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.
Pajaro Valley will be playing at home against North Salinas at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully North Salinas focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 last Tuesday. As for Monte Vista Christian, they will head out on the road to take on King City at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. King City will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1336th, while Monte Vista Christian is ranked 611th).
