East Lee County is 8-2 against Island Coast since November of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The East Lee County Jaguars will head out on the road to take on the Island Coast Gators at 7:00 p.m.
East Lee County unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 41-40 to Moore Haven.
Even though Island Coast has not done well against Ida Baker recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Island Coast strolled past Ida Baker with points to spare, taking the game 71-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Island Coast to victory, but perhaps none more so than Terrell Hill, who scored ten points along with eight steals and seven assists. Hill hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. Another player making a difference was Jose Bido, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and six steals.
East Lee County now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Island Coast, their win bumped their record up to 8-10.
East Lee County beat Island Coast 59-52 in their previous meeting back in November of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for East Lee County since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
