Leroy Greene Academy got a massive performance out of Marley Nava, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, five runs, and one triple. Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Foresthill). They blew past Faith Christian 19-8 on Thursday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Wildfires' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Lynnsey Drone made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and seven unearned) runs off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her six plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Marissa Miller was a standout: she got on base in all six of her plate appearances with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ella Lorance, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Foresthill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .596. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2024.
Foresthill has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Leroy Greene Academy, the win got them back to even at 6-6.
Leroy Greene Academy might still be hurting after the 17-7 loss they got from Foresthill in their previous matchup on April 9th. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
