They snuck past Largo with a 17-13 victory. This was payback for Northeast, who suffered a 22-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Northeast's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sir Jacob thompson, who rushed for 108 yards on only nine carries. Jacob thompson was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 50 yards. Javeyon Mckenzie also helped out with an impressive 82 receiving yards.
Despite the loss, Largo still got an impressive performance from Jeremy Thomas, who rushed for 78 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 79 yards and a touchdown.
Northeast is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Largo, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-2.
Northeast will head out on the road to face off against Hillsborough at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Hillsborough is ranked 134th, while Northeast is ranked 152nd). As for Largo, they will be playing in front of their home fans against East Bay at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. East Bay is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
