Basketball Game Preview: Fort LeBoeuf Bison vs. Union City Bears

The Fort LeBoeuf Bison will challenge the Union City Bears at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Union City is hoping to do what North East couldn't on Tuesday: put an end to Fort LeBoeuf's winning streak (dating back to last season), which now stands at five games. Everything went Fort LeBoeuf's way against North East as Fort LeBoeuf made off with a 62-37 victory. While the Bison didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Fort LeBoeuf's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Carson Papay, who posted 19 points along with six rebounds and five steals, and Grady Matkovich, who made all 6 shots he took racking up 15 points and three steals. Papay is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Kc Wasiulewski was another key player, putting up five points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Union City humbled Jamestown with an 82-18 victory.

Fort LeBoeuf pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Union City, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
