James Buchanan hasn't had much luck against Big Spring recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Rockets will look to defend their home field against the Bulldogs at 4:15 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Friday, James Buchanan made easy work of Biglerville and carried off a 9-3 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Rockets have posted against the Canners since April 1, 2016.

Trey Daugherty made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jimmy Bell, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Jake Miller was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.
James Buchanan was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Biglerville only posted a batting average of .208.
While Big Spring didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against Dover on Friday as they made off with a 9-1 victory. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Big Spring pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for James Buchanan, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2-1.
James Buchanan skirted past Big Spring 12-10 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Will the Rockets repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
