Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Mart Panthers walked away with it. They blew past the Lions 57-20 at home. Mart's victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Mart's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jd Bell led the charge by rushing for 137 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 carries. Bell has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was De'Montrel Medlock, who threw for 290 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 passes.
Mart has yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 14-0 record. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 50.38 points. As for Lovelady, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 13-1.
Mart will face off against Chilton at TBD on Friday. Chilton is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Lovelady does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
