The Klein Cain Hurricanes were the 63-43 winner over the Klein Oak Panthers when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Klein Cain took a 75-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Klein Cain's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of John Clark, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds, and Nick Delgado who scored 13 points along with three blocks. Clark is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last 11 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Colin Mutayoba, who scored six points.
Even though they lost, Klein Cain smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Klein Oak got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Isaiah Walker out in front who scored 20 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Franklin, who scored 16 points along with five assists and two steals.
Klein Cain's loss dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Klein Oak, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-9.
Klein Cain will be playing at home against the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Klein Collins focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday. As for Klein Oak, they will head out on the road to take on the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Waller is out to stop a seven-game streak of losses at home.
