After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Lawrence County, Lewis County was happy to have turned things around  on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a  win as the  squad sidled past the East Hickman County Eagles  3-1. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

 Brayden Whitlow was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out seven batters over  3.1 innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. The dominant performance gave  him a new career-high in  strikeouts. He was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with two  doubles and one  RBI.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Maddox Tanner, who  went 1-for-2 with one  stolen base, two  RBI,  and one  double. That's the most  RBI  he has posted since back in March of 2024.
The  victory  got Lewis County back to even at 1-1. As for East Hickman County,  they are  on  a  seven-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.
 Lewis County didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  contest,  a  9-4  loss against Spring Hill on the 7th. East Hickman County has also already played their next  match (against McEwen), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
