Liberty is 6-0 against Silverado since October of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Liberty Patriots will look to defend their home field against the Silverado Skyhawks at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Liberty has five straight victories, Silverado has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Thursday, Liberty faced Shadow Ridge in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Liberty narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Shadow Ridge 35-32. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Liberty to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tyrese Smith, who threw for 298 yards and two touchdowns while completing 73.9% of his passes. Isaiah Lauofo was another key contributor, rushing for 75 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries.
Meanwhile, Silverado came up short against Arbor View on Friday and fell 17-6.
Liberty's victory was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 27.4 points per game. As for Silverado, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
Everything came up roses for Liberty against Silverado when the teams last played on October 6th as the squad secured a 35-0 win. Does Liberty have another victory up their sleeve, or will Silverado turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
