The South Pointe Stallions just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Hillgrove Hawks at 2:30 p.m. on December 21st. South Pointe has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 320 points over their last five contests.
Even though Patrick Henry scored an imposing 58 points on Wednesday, South Pointe still came out on top. South Pointe escaped with a win against Patrick Henry by the margin of a single free throw, 59-58. Given South Pointe's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked sixth in South Carolina, while Patrick Henry is ranked 69th in Virginia), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
South Pointe's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Victoria Morris led the charge by scoring 22 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Serenity Woods was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Hillgrove earned a 54-44 win over Willow Spring on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Hillgrove.
South Pointe's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Hillgrove, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
