The Aspen Skiers had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They took down Moffat County 67-52. Given Aspen's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while Moffat County is ranked 150th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Aspen's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tommy Franceschi, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Giovanni Seeman was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Despite the loss, Moffat County still got an impressive performance from Bryant Carlson, who scored 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ian Champ hafey, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Aspen's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Moffat County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.
Aspen will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Summit at 5:00 p.m. Hopefully Summit focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday.
