The Gilbertsville-Mt. Upton Raiders lost against the Milford Central Wildcats back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Gilbertsville-Mt. Upton was dealt a 77-46 defeat at the hands of Milford Central. Gilbertsville-Mt. Upton was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-13.
Milford Central was led to victory by Carter Stevens and Christian Lawson. Stevens scored 19 points along with nine rebounds and eight steals, while Lawson scored 37 points along with three steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Lawson has scored at least 25% of Milford Central's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Edmonds, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds.
Gilbertsville-Mt. Upton's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Milford Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Schenevus Central the next time they take the court. Gilbertsville-Mt. Upton will head out to face Schenevus Central at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Milford Central will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
