After losing to the Erwin Warriors the last time they met, the North Buncombe Black Hawks decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. North Buncombe walked away with a 51-38 victory over Erwin on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back wins for North Buncombe.
North Buncombe found their leader in underclassman Aubrey Gilliland, who scored seven points along with six assists and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Metcalf, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Despite the loss, Erwin still got an impressive performance from Teasia Hines, who scored 13 points along with three blocks. That's the first time this season that Hines posted two or more blocks.
North Buncombe's win bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Erwin, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season.
North Buncombe will be playing at home against Asheville at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Asheville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday. As for Erwin, they will head out on the road to square off against T.C. Roberson at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. T.C. Roberson is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
