Cabot has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Bryant Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cabot will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arkansas Rankings (they are ranked 41st, while Bryant is ranked first).
Last Friday, Cabot lost to Central at home by a decisive 58-43 margin. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Cabot has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Bryant waltzed into their game on Friday with 24 straight wins but they left with 25. They enjoyed a cozy 72-58 victory over Little Rock Southwest. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Bryant's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rj Young, who scored 25 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Young has scored all season. Trent Ford was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with two steals.
Cabot's defeat dropped their record down to 9-16. As for Bryant, their win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 25-2.
Cabot couldn't quite finish off Bryant in their previous meeting on Wednesday and fell 51-48. Can Cabot avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
