Trinity Christian is 0-9 against Coastal HomeSchool since November of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Trinity Christian will be playing at home against the Coastal HomeSchool Hurricanes at 7:30 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Trinity Christian didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Heritage Christian Academy, but they still walked away with a 38-33 win.
Trinity Christian relied on the efforts of Nathan Suchovsky, who scored 13 points, and Isaac Cleveland, who scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cleveland has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Isaac Sherrod, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Coastal HomeSchool came tearing into Saturday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 54-51 win over Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Coastal HomeSchool has posted yet this season.
It was another big night for Kyrin Couvson, who scored 26 points along with two steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Coastal HomeSchool's points. Alijah McField was another key contributor, scoring five points along with 15 rebounds and five steals.
Trinity Christian's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Coastal HomeSchool, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-10.
Trinity Christian was taken down by Coastal HomeSchool 109-45 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Trinity Christian was down 52-28.
