The Granite Hills Cougars and the Salesian Mustangs squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Granite Hills Cougars had to settle for second. Granite Hills took a 28-16 hit to the loss column at the hands of Salesian. Granite Hills' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Cameron Crutcher was a one-man wrecking crew for Salesian as he rushed for 248 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries, and also threw for 35 yards and two touchdowns. Crutcher's longest rush was for an incredible 73 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Edwards, who rushed for 132 yards and a touchdown.
Granite Hills' defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Salesian, they have yet to lose a game on the road this season, leaving them with a 10-1 record.
Granite Hills does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Salesian will look to defend their home field on Friday against King at 7:00 p.m.
