Classical hasn't had much luck against Davies Career & Tech recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Purple will head out to take on the Patriots at 3:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Davies Career & Tech will be up against a hot Classical squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Everything went the Purple's way against Middletown on Wednesday as they made off with a 16-8 victory.

04/12/24 vs Hope | 2 |
05/08/25 @ Hope | 1 |
04/21/25 vs Central | 1 |
04/16/25 vs Exeter-West Greenwich | 1 |
Olivia Martins was incredible, getting four hits. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emmy Tavares, who got three hits.
Classical always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of 2.500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of 1.909 or higher in five consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Davies Career & Tech won against Exeter-West Greenwich on Monday with 15 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Patriots didn't even let Hope on the board, marking the Patriots' second-straight 15-0 shutout. Give the Patriots' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.
Gabriella Fisher made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Davies Career & Tech let Kylie Robert and Madison Blanchette run wild. Robert went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Blanchette got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run and three RBI. Tiana Hernandez was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Classical's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-3. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.0 runs over those games. As for Davies Career & Tech, their record now sits at 11-4.
Thursday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Classical has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of 1.925. However, it's not like Davies Career & Tech struggles in that department as they've averaged .526. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Classical suffered a grim 33-10 defeat to Davies Career & Tech in their previous meeting back in May of 2023. Can the Purple avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
