Luella is 4-0 against the Knights since January of 2023, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Luella Lions will look to defend their home court against the Pace Academy Knights at 5:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Luella waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They took down McDonough 59-42.
Luella's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Miliani Smith, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 15 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Smith has scored at least a third of Luella's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayla Williams, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Pace Academy earned a 60-50 win over the Wolfpack on Tuesday. The win was just what Pace Academy needed coming off of a 81-49 defeat in their prior contest.
Luella has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a massive bump to their 14-8 record this season. As for Pace Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 14-5.
Luella strolled past the Knights when the teams last played back in January by a score of 52-38. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Pace Academy's Lawson Monroe, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds.
