Redbank Valley has been on the road for two straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Karns City Gremlins at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Redbank Valley has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,086 points over their last 16 matchups.
Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Redbank Valley beat the Cardinals 60-54. Given Redbank Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 77th, while the Cardinals are ranked 412th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Redbank Valley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kieran Fricko out in front who scored 15 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Breckin Minich, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Karns City's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 68-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of DuBois. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Redbank Valley's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-1. As for Karns City, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-5.
Redbank Valley barely slipped by the Gremlins in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, winning 67-66. Will Redbank Valley repeat their success, or do the Gremlins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
