Joseph Frye made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out eight over six innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played.
In other batting news, Reed Palmer was incredible, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lincoln Chimics, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Meanwhile, Cowanesque Valley didn't have quite enough to beat Towanda on Monday and fell 5-4. The defeat continues a trend for the Indians in their meetings with the Black Knights: they've now lost three in a row.

Wednesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Troy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .458. However, it's not like Cowanesque Valley struggles in that department as they've averaged .432. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Troy's way against Cowanesque Valley in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Troy made off with a 9-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
