Cedar Grove had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They put the hurt on North Star Academy with a sharp 12-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won six matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Cedar Grove's victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-4. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for North Star Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cedar Grove will face off against Verona on Friday. The Hillbillies' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for North Star Academy, they will venture away from home to square off against Hillside at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
